Four Peelin' with Grant
Four Things we Learned about Watershed’s Head of Market Development, Grant Bain
In Four Peelin’ we ask four hard hitting questions to peel back the layers and share some of the characters that make up our little family. The question might change, but we’ll make sure to always ask their favorite way to drink Four Peel Gin so you can follow along at home.
In this edition we meet Grant Bain, our traveling road show. If you’ve been in the UK, Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, or Kentucky recently you’ve probably seen his face. Responsible for setting up new business, and training new sales folks, he’s a bit of a Grant of all trades. One of our early hires, and the man responsible for our bottled Old Fashioned recipe. Meet Grant Bain, Market Development at Watershed Distillery.
What’s your favorite way to enjoy Four Peel Gin?
Four Peel is so versatile, it's hard to pick one favorite. I keep it classic with my Four Peel drinks. I love a good 50/50 martini with some blanc vermouth if I am looking for a sipper. On the other hand, I always love a fresh lime gimlet. Depending on the day one of those two is my favorite.
Which character in The Wire do you relate to the most?
Big fan of Prop Joe. He is a deal maker and brings the East and West side together. He organizes their co-op and creates mutually beneficial arrangements for everyone involved. He also has killer one-liners.
You’re allowed one sandwich for the rest of your life, what’s on it?
Is a taco a sandwich? If so, taco, baby! If not, I would lean towards the sandwich I’ve heard referred to as the “other Philly:” Roasted pork, broccoli rabe, provolone on a sturdy Italian hoagie bun. I had one for lunch a few months back with my homie Diesel (he is the greatest dog* in Michigan) on the patio of one of my favorite bars. It was a perfect sandwich experience.
Knowing you’d survive, would you rather ride a barrel down Niagara Falls or be shot out of a cannon?
I dyed my hair to look like Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray when I was in high school. That being said, I just want to fly. Shoot me out of that cannon so I can soar just for a minute. Also, there is no way I land gracefully, my track record for sticking the landing is not great.
*At press time we weren’t fully sure if Diesel was an actual dog or not.
